The Senate Deputy President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu has reassured his commitment towards good governance and qualitative representation ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Senator Ike Ekweremadu gave the assurance at the fund raising dinner organized by the Campaign Council of the Peoples Democratic Party in Enugu west senatorial zone.
Senator Ekweremadu commended the supporters, party faithful and donors for investing in the political ambition of the candidates who will be contesting under the platform of the PDP.
In his words “We believe that whatever investment you made for us today will be a testament for development of good governance, not only in Enugu but in Nigeria at large” “We are committed to good governance and qualitative representation. We believe that working together will make our states and Nigeria at large better”
Meanwhile, Chairman of the occasion, Sir, Eric Chime extolled the performance of Senator Ike Ekweremadu and some of the candidates seeking reelection as well as the new candidates going for their possible first term in office if elected in 2019.
Eric Chime said the decision to present them for reelection was made easy due to their performance after being given opportunity to represent the people and tasked the party faithful to move the campaign down to their various political wards with the aim of delivering their polling units to the PDP during the election.
Also the zonal Chairman of the party in Enugu west, Okey Ozoani described the outcome of the fund raising as an indication and show of massive support bestowed on the party by the people of the zone.
However, In Enugu west senatorial zone, PDP will be fielding a total of eleven candidates; among them are seven state house of assemble candidates, two house of reps candidates, one senatorial candidate and the running mate to the incumbent Governor.
